United Women in Faith

United Women in Faith has a long history beginning on March 23, 1869.  Although there have been many changes, we continue to be a “community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.”

Our mission has always been to better the life of women, youth, and children at home and around the world, through our education of issues and our mission giving.

Our Unit is made up of four circles:

Elizabeth-Ruth Circle, an afternoon circle

Hannah Circle, an evening circle

Rachel Circle, a noon circle at The Village

Sarah Circle, a morning circle

Unit Meetings vary from morning to afternoon times, contact IndianolaUMW@gmail.com for questions on Circle meeting times.

Circle and Unit meeting times can be located on our church online events calendar as well as are posted on the UWF bulletin board located in the church courtyard hallway.

We have had programs on Maternity Mortality, Climate Justice and Pay Inequality. In 2024 we will learn about the Women at the Well program, The Lord’s Prayer, food pantry service project and school kits for the Iowa Conference Ingathering.

Unit and Circle meetings include fellowship time, devotion, program, and business meeting.

Every woman in our church and community is welcome to attend.  One need not be a member of the United Methodist Church to join United Women in Faith.
