T.G.I.W! Class Descriptions
4 Year Olds:
Our Wednesday night program is for those who have had their 4th birthday by Sept. 15, 2010 ,  are out of Pull-Ups, and whose parents are participating in T.G.I.W! activities themselves.  Kids will venture to the story room with the older kids for a lesson every week then return to their room for the remainder of the hour.  This program is not intended as respite care for parents to run errands but as an opportunity for children to learn about Jesus while parents are either teaching or attending classes.
Kindergarten through 5th Grades:

New Format ~ Every Wednesday is like a Mini-Vacation Bible School with kids rotating between story, games, and art.  Kids begin and end in their grade-level classrooms for easy drop-off and pick-up by parents.

Youth Mission Adventures ( 11:30 Early Out Wednesdays):
Instead of spending an early out day at home, why not put your free time into action?  Starting back up this fall, middle school through high school youth will find ways to be in ministry through mission to those in our community, as well as in surrounding communities.  Sign up for each event with Pastor Andrew through facebook or at pastorandrew@indfumc.org.

Youth & Families Sunday Evening Series will meet the 3rd Sunday of the month covering such topics as:  Youth Relationships & Sex, Helicopter Parenting, and Drugs & Our Kids ~ What’s In ~ What to Watch for.  This will be a Hot Topics sort of format.  Meeting will begin and end in the Hospitality Room with break-out rooms available for those times when parents and youth could be better served by separate facilitators.  Starts Sept. 19th  6:00–8:00p.m. ; 3rd Sun. thereafter.

Mind, Body & Spirit:  Is a Speakers Series that will explore Ways of Thinking, Expectations, Laughter, Let Go ~ Let God, among just a few.  Our minds, bodies, and spirits are not separate. Sometimes we need help to feel whole. Special speakers are invited in to present relevant topics that affect all of our lives. Watch The Messenger for upcoming speakers.  Wednesdays 6:30 – 7:30 ; Rooms 218A & 219A

The Gospel of Mark:  study with Drs. Roger Betsworth & Bruce Haddox using the Marcus Borg book, Conversations with Scripture: The Gospel of Mark.  Who was Mark and why was this gospel written?  This book “is a must-read for those who long to understand more fully the Kingdom of God and the person of Jesus as Son of God.”  Wednesdays 6:30 – 7:30 ; Room 204A

WOW! (Women of the Word) Reads an exciting variety of books throughout the year ~ watch The Messenger for details.  Wednesdays 6:30 – 7:30 ; Lamb Room

Calm Heart:  Calm my Anxious Heart is a women’s study that will help you overcome worry and find content-ment in your life.  A member of our church wrote this about the study.  It was life-changing for me when I didn't think I was able to be helped. God will speak to the heart of anyone who reads it.” We will be using a book and study guide but, will not require any reading outside of class.  Each class will be a new thought process and learning experience so if you miss a class you will be able to rejoin the study without feeling lost.   Longing to just relax? This class is for you!  Wed. 6:30 – 7:30 ; Albright Room w/ Brooke Boden ~ a Care Ministry class

PK’s Desserts:    A loose gathering after supper up in Parish Hall.  What's on your mind? What's on your heart?  What's in the news that People of Faith need to be in conversation about? Grab some dessert.  Fill your coffee cup.   Pastor Kay invites adults not already committed to a class to stay for a time of dialogue.  September 15, 22, 29 and Oct 6

Divorce Care:  Are you currently going through a divorce?  Or maybe it’s been years, but you are still healing.  You do not have to go through it alone.  Learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. This class features a video and study guides, you will be able to discuss the topics in confidence while learning biblical teaching for recovering from divorce and separation. Wed. 6:30 – 7:30 ; Room: 102 w/Judith deVries: ~ a Care Ministry class.

It’s Not Just About Wednesdays Anymore!

Other Adult Opportunities:
Coffee Hour:  Come and join us for coffee as we gather on the 3rd Monday each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Youth Room.  Watch The Messenger for speakers and topics.  Begins October 18th.

Thursday Thoughts:  is a book study group that will use Lord, Give Me Patience! …. And Give It To Me Right Now! by James W. and Bob J. Moore.  These days we want everything done in a hurry. We are impatient people looking for instant gratification.  Who of us has not prayed, “Lord give me patience”?  We don’t understand God’s ways.  God is deliberate, steady, and refuses to be rushed.  Join us as we learn about love, grace, forgiveness, faith and resurrection and how to look for and apply these gifts in our lives.    Come and join us!  Starts September 14th and every Thursday thereafter in the Library at 10:00 . a.m.  Leader: Darla Kickbush, dkkick40@gmail.com
